Air Management

Air Block Kits provide an air lock at the top and bottom of 19-inch Rack Cabinet enclosures, sealing the perimeter of the 19-inch equipment field on 800mm wide cabinets using Brush Air Baffle Strips

*SINGLE INFILL PANEL MOULDING These cleverly designed mouldings quickly clip into the rectangular apertures of the vertical infill panels, at the sides of 800mm wide ServerSmart, Smart Cab and Smart Net range. Mouldings contact the side panel providing an effective air block up the full height of the cabinet. Close fit cable fingers allow through cabling to be achieved, whilst preserving the air block effect. Material: Black Polypropylene UL94V-0 It is standard practice to only fit these mouldings to the Infill Panels at the front of an 800mm wide Cannon Cabinet, unless side air flow equipment is installed, in which case four mounting infill panels are fitted with Air Block Mouldings.

Components which can substantially improve effective cooling.

Air Block Kits provide:
An effective air lock preventing cold air escaping through the rack and by bypassing the ‘IT’ equipment for which it is intended.
Prevent hot exhaust air from the rear of the rack scavenging to the front of the rack and contaminating the cold air.
Effectively seal the gaps at the side, above and below the 19-inch equipment mounting field, ensuring that costly cooling air is guided only to the target equipment and not wasted.
As much as 50% of a wide/tall rack can comprise air bypass paths which are outside of the 19-inch equipment field. Failing to block these paths can dramatically reduce PUE performance.

Air Block components include mouldings which seal the apertures in vertical infill panels. These mouldings can be brush finger type to allow through cabling or solid mouldings. Both types can embody side tabs which extend to the side panel sealing often ignored areas. In addition special brush strip components are available to seal the gaps above and below the 19-inch equipment field. Supplied: KP0501 KIT comprising; 2 x Brush Air Baffle Strips (top & bottom of 19” area) and correct brush mouldings for the cabinet height. For further details please contact the Cannon Sales Team.
